SHUTTLE KILNS
In the shuttle kiln field, ITALFORNI succeeded in
using as fuel the heavy oil by starting the firing cycle with diesel oil
which permits an easy and rapid ignition of the kiln. This result has been obtained with the use of a
particular burner equipped with a compressor/atomizer able to run
indifferently with the two types of fuel. Concerning the use of natural gas or LPG, the
utilization of burners Jet with high speed realized: � A great energetic saving; � The possibility to build kiln with
very large loading sections; � Excellent results of firing in each
kiln section. � The firing curve is studied in
relation to: o
Available fuel type; o
Type of product to be fired; o
Density of the volume charge; o
Reducing atmosphere. The burner regulation is usually made with the
modulating system air/gas. For the management of the temperature curve,
microprocessors and personal computers are used. Shuttle kiln are normally supplied prefabricated
with modules easy to be assembled, except for particular cases when their
building is made directly at the customer's factory. In relation to the type of fuel available, shuttle
kiln are built in : ceramic fiber for natural gas, LPG, coal gas;
insulating/refractory material for diesel oil, fuel oil. ITALFORNI has built shuttle kiln of different capacities from 6 up
to 80 m3 for production of : earthenware, dinner ware, sanitary ware, colouring
oxides, technical ceramic, refractory materials and bricks.
