THERMAL MARBLE WHITENING TREATMENT
ITALFORNI is glad to inform sector operators about a
new thermal machine for the marble industry. Carrara marble is known since ancient times for its
particular whiteness, that has made it famous all over the world, and the
artists preferred one to create admirable sculptural and architectural
works. The request for this marble has improved more and
more, allowing the local specified industry development. The extracted white marble quantities have been
progressively reduced by the growing request of the market, besides of the
progressive reduction of marble quarries availability. Today situation is the one of many quarries that
deliver most grey-veined or almost grey marbles. That is how that the offer quality has changed, and,
consequently, the request has fell down, causing a reduction of the prices
and an always lower employment of specialized personnel. Appropriately heated, grey marble grows light,
approaching its pigmentation to the “Carrara white”. For this reason, the marble treating factories, has
