Double channel dryer
One of the important special project, recently realized by Italforni in Germany, is the double channel roller dryer for extruded material having 18% of humidity.
For small sizes such as 300x300x10 mm, the cycle is 35 minutes, with an output production of 235 m2/h for each channel.
The same plant is used also for drying external ventilated panel walls of great size (300x600x30 mm) with cycle 60 minutes and residual humidity of 1 %.

Refractory treatment
The high technological content of recent Italforni realization is excellently represented by the shuttle kiln with capacity of about 200m3, installed for an important Italian refractory industry.
This kiln reaches temperatures of 800°C and cycles of 48-60 hours, to treat special pieces until 3200mm of diameter and 8 Ton of weight; the blown hot air is managed automatically by a modulating system and homogenously distributed by means of special axial fans properly studied by Italforni.

Titanium hydroxide recovery
Italforni, always searching for new technologies to satisfy the inquiries of the market and strongly occupied to give its help to ecology, has realized a complete plant for titanium hydroxide recovery from industrial working.
The product to treat is mud with a content of 75% of water.
This plant includes a particular system of mud extraction and a belt dryer with loading and unloading equipment.

"Jedi" system
“Jedi system” is an example of the continuous technological research made by Italforni: this system consists of a brick particular shaping through which obtain a mortising coupling, allowing the kiln wall construction with insulating bricks without the use of cements.
The system, patented, permits to avoid thermal shocks and the consequent breakings in case of strong temperature variations on the walls.
Studies of the heating transmission, made comparing structures executed with bricks bound by cements and other executed with “Jedi system”, put in evidence an energetic saving in favour of the new system of the 2-3%.

"Typhoon" fanning
Another patent named “Typhoon” is actually under industrialisation phase by Italforni, it concerns a special high temperature flow shaker to be installed inside the kiln and able to work up to 1250°C.
The concrete results of this system consist in the amelioration of ceramic product firing, as far as caliber and tunes, greater exchange and thermal dynamic of hot flows inside the kiln, reduction of firing cycles and consequent energy saving are concerned.
This system is applicable to every existent kiln without need of particular structural modifications.

Roller breaking checking system
One of the technical innovations recently applicated on Italforni roller kilns is the roller breaking checking system, simple, efficient and very cheap solution applicable to every kind of roller kiln.
The system allows, without the use of photocells, to detect eventual broken rollers and to activate, through PLC, the swinging operation; thanks to this it is possible to replace the broken roller without causing damages to more rollers or to the motor driving system.

Burners IF
 During last years Italforni, costantly involved in reducing the inflow of industrial combustion gases in atmosphere, to give its own contribute to keep the environment healthful, has created new series of burners at low NOX emission.
 Very satisfactory results have been reached on the firing process with the burners IF55 and IF200, with high performances compared to the standard previsouly used; Italforn combustion systems can be manged in modulation gas/air with constant control of O2 and CO percentage.

Tecnochimica acquisition
On December 2005, Italforni has acquired the Tecnochimica Sassolese, company with 30 years of activity, especially leader in the firing of ceramic product for high temeperatures (porcelain for high temperature, ferrites, rollers..).
Italforni enlarges in this way its business field, which already ranged over dryers, kilns for firing of ceramic, glass, brickware and melting kilns for frit production, by introducing technologies for products different from traditional ceramic.
Italforni is able to offer its assistance to all Tecnochimica storical customers, both for spare parts and for standard technical consulence. |

Handbook for ceramic technician
On 1997, thanks to the long experience, matured facing and solving daily production problems directly in factory, the President Pietro Mazzacani has made, in co-operation with Doc. Giovanni Biffi, the book “Handbook for the technician of ceramics production”, a describing handbook, valid consultation instrument for the operators directly involved in the field.
